Ushering in an age of leadership from women with sharp intelligence and sensibility, KWU is becoming an outstanding center for women's education.
I would like to go ahead with a plan for the basic direction of the management of our university without further delay.
First, KWU is a continuous reinforcement of employment-centered education and human dignity education. Employment-centered education is indispensible in a time where unemployment in the millions. The first blueprint of our future should be to equip humanity for these difficult social conditions.
Second, we will secure competitive power with University innovation. In an era of individuation, the innovation of university is a barometer of our success. We must remember that it is our obligation to keep a character which only KWU has.
Third, it is an activation and concentration of research and development. It is natural that the aim of the university be various research for the progress of mankind. Therefore, I will do my best to activate the research of professors and new knowledge as president of this university.
Fourth, KWU would like to enforce a regional role for our regional society. The success and failure of a University may depend upon its contributions to regional society. For this reason, I will make every effort to enforce the cooperation between the government and our university as well as regional businesses.
Finally, KWU will continue to run diversified globalization programs including our foreign language education. There are no borders in today's global society. Globalization is a challenge that everybody is now facing. We cannot shrink away from this responsibility for the time being. We must win a victory from competition with famous universities around the world. I am sure that this is the true future of Kwangju Women's University.
